medic-logo-10032011Medic Regional Blood Center is offering a nice incentive for one lucky donor during the month of April. Now through May 1, all donors will be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Memphis in May’s World Championship BBQ Cook-off. The prize package includes two tickets to the event as well as overnight accommodations and a $100 gas card. Entry is simple, donate blood but to win you must be over 21 years of age. “This is our fourth year for this promotion and our donors really seem to like it. We’ve had great feedback from past winners, “ explains Christi Fightmaster, Medic Spokesperson.

Medic is the sole provider of blood for the greater East Tennessee area as well as Bell County, Kentucky. Officials say the community blood center is in need of all blood types, especially O Negative-the universal blood type. To make a donation, visit one of two blood centers: 1601 Ailor Avenue or 11000 Kingston Pike or visit a community drive in your area.

  • April 10, Leadvale Baptist Church, 1pm – 8pm, Bloodmobile.
  • April 16, True Life Church, 860 East Highway 11E, 12pm – 7pm, Inside Fellowship Hall.
  • April 18, Jefferson City High School*, 8am – 3pm, ROTC Room. *For Students Only.

Donors must be 17 years of age or older and weigh 110 pounds or more (16 year-olds weighing 120 pounds can donate but must have parental consent) and all donors must have positive identification.
