It’s Official

Following months of preparation, planning and construction the new freshman academy has officially been given the moniker the Patriot Academy and there is signage to prove it. In the final stages of construction, the new building’s sign was erected on Friday following a School Board and community tour earlier in the week. Director of Business Affairs for the Department of Education, Michael Phagan, stated that the walk through for the punch lists that check off the completion of the building will happen later this month and then work can start on actually moving into the new facility. The process of turning the pristine rooms into classrooms will require a strong time commitment from administration and staff, however both are up to the challenge and excited to be a part of the educational progress. This summer, Phagan and the renovation team will begin extensive renovations on Jefferson County High School, while preparing the Patriot Academy for the arrival of the Class of 2017.
