JCHS Student Receives Daughters of the American Revolution Bronze ROTC Medal

Melanie Rodriguez, senior student at Jefferson County High School, was presented the Daughters of the American Revolution Bronze ROTC Medal, certificate, and check, on April 30, 2013, by Samuel Doak Chapter NSDAR  members Ellen Betts and Chairman of National Defense Committee Mary Lu English.  The ceremony was held by Major Russell Turner in the commons area of Jefferson County High School, in Dandridge, TN.

The Bronze ROTC Medal is awarded to either a junior or senior student in a secondary school JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps)  program or to a Junior College or U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Unit graduating senior (one medal per unit). Medals are worn according to JROTC protocol.
