Sophie’s Cheesy Pasta

recipe-entreeMy husband and I have given our daughter the task of helping out more in the kitchen and learning how to cook a few meals. One day after grocery shopping, I came home to a fantastic pasta meal that she had created and cooked by herself. She has since cooked this dish again for our family Sunday dinner at her Mimi’s house, and it was big hit with everyone.

 

Ingredients:

1 box medium shell pasta

3 T butter

2 cups half-n-half

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated parmesan cheese

½ t dried basil

¼ t dried thyme

½ t salt

¼ t pepper

 

Directions:

Cook pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Drain and transfer to serving bowl.

While the pasta is cooking, place butter and half-n-half in a medium saucepan set over medium heat. When butter begins to melt, add mozzarella and parmesan cheese, stirring constantly.

Add basil, thyme, salt, and pepper to cheese sauce and stir. Once all cheeses are melted, turn heat down to low, continuing to stir, until pasta is finished cooking.

Pour cheese sauce over pasta and stir to combine.
